KOMM is the integration tool you need! It is a support tool intended to enrich the daily language interactions of early childhood workers with allophone children and parents. Komm was created specifically for early childhood educational services, with the help of an advisory committee made up of stakeholders from the early childhood network, a speech therapist and people who work for childcare organizations and integration of immigrants. MUCH MORE THAN A MOBILE APPLICATION Communication aspect with the child: More than 130 pictograms to promote the learning of French and the development of language in children. Categories: emotions/states, places, play areas, needs, routines and transitions, daily life, when, with whom, expected behaviors, actions, diet, special activities, travel, why. Communication component with the allophone parent: More than 145 pictograms to express essential needs and communicate important information to parents. Categories: clothing, health, course of the day, functioning, information for the educator, to bring, emotions/states, places, when, food, special activities, travel. Practical features of the mobile application (child and parent panes): Creation of personalized sequences; Printing pictograms, sequences or categories; Sending pictograms by email; Addition of photos related to the child's needs. This project is supported by the Ministry of Immigration, Francisation and Integration as part of Francisation Québec.
