Koh-Dokei is a Japanese incense clock for your Wear OS smartwatch. One stick of incense equals one day: lit at midnight, it burns down through 24 hours, and you read the time from how far it has burned. 🕯️ ONE STICK, ONE DAY A fresh stick stands in the bronze burner at midnight and burns from the top down. At noon it is half gone. By late evening only a stub is left. Timekeeping without numbers. 🔥 A SMALL RED EMBER The burning point is a single small ember that descends the stick as the hours pass. Its position is the clock. 🌅 A ROOM THAT CHANGES WITH THE HOUR The alcove behind the burner is lit four ways across the day — night, dawn, daylight and dusk — crossfading from one to the next as the hours pass. 💨 LIVING SMOKE A thread of smoke rises from the burning point, sways, and dissolves in the air above. New wisps well up from the ember as older ones fade out. ⏳ ASH THAT GATHERS Burnt ash builds up in the burner through the day, and clears when a fresh stick begins at midnight. 🕐 THE OLD JAPANESE HOURS As the ember passes each traditional koku mark, its old name appears beside it with its English meaning: 暁七ツ PREDAWN, 明六ツ DAYBREAK, 昼九ツ NOON, 暮六ツ DUSK, 宵五ツ EVENING. 🔢 SHOW OR HIDE THE NUMBERS Choose Time and date, Time only, or Numberless. In Numberless mode the digits disappear completely and the incense alone tells the time. ⌚ TWO DATA SLOTS, YOUR SIZE Two slots set into bronze medallions beside the clock, showing steps and battery by default and changeable to other information you prefer. Choose Large, Medium, Small, or hide them entirely. 🎨 FIVE INCENSE THEMES Kyara Gold, Jinko, Byakudan, Seitai and Sumi change the colour of the text and accents. 🌙 AMBIENT MODE Optimised for always-on display.
