With Surprise Contracts, kids can notice something useful that needs doing, complete it, choose the reward they believe their effort is worth, and send it to their parent for approval. Parents make the final decision. This helps children recognize the value of their own work, estimate what their effort is worth, and learn to propose a fair reward. It also encourages initiative and independent thinking. REWARDS DON'T HAVE TO MEAN MONEY Every family has a different approach to chores and allowance. A Smart Contract can reward a child with money or points. Points can represent progress instead of cash, allowing children to work toward privileges, experiences, personal goals, or other family rewards. Parents can also reward progress itself by setting a weekly completion goal and offering an extra reward when enough Smart Contracts are completed. Gems can provide another motivational layer for special rewards. Kids Market doesn't tell families that chores should be paid.
