Leave Safari. The video keeps playing, and the ads do not. Keep Playing works with any website that uses a standard HTML5 player. Start a video, tap the button that appears over it, and playback carries on while you answer a message, read something else, or put the phone in your pocket. WHAT IT DOES • Background playback — one tap moves the video into a Picture-in-Picture window that iOS keeps alive after you leave Safari • Skips ad breaks — in-player ads are muted and skipped, Skip is pressed the moment it appears, and overlay and banner ads are removed from the page • Lock screen controls — the real title, the real artwork, and working play, pause and seek from the lock screen and Control Center • No more self-pausing — many players stop the moment the page is hidden; Keep Playing tells them the page is still there • No more "are you still watching?" — the dialogs that interrupt long playback are dismissed for you • Playback speed from 0.75x to 2x, remembered per website • Per-site control, and every behaviour above can be switched off individually WHAT IT CANNOT DO Playback stops if you force-quit Safari from the app switcher. At that point a Safari extension has no process left, and iOS grants extensions no background audio permission. Switching apps or locking the screen is fine; closing Safari outright is not. No Safari extension can do this — it is a limit of iOS, and we would rather you knew before buying. Picture in Picture also needs a real tap: iOS only grants it while the page still holds a recent touch. That is why the extension puts a button over the video instead of relying on guesswork. Keep Playing does not download, store, re-host or redistribute any media, and does not bypass paywalls or copy protection. Playback stays on the site where it started. PRIVACY No servers. No accounts. No analytics. Nothing about what you watch leaves your device. Keep Playing is a Safari extension, so after installing you enable it in Settings, Apps, Safari, Extensions. The app walks you through it.
