Progress and study preferences are stored locally and can sync privately through iCloud across your iPhone and iPad. COMPLETE KANJI, ONE-TIME UNLOCK An optional one-time purchase unlocks all 2,136 Jōyō kanji across the five community-estimated JLPT groups from N5 through N1. There is no subscription. A separate optional Tip Jar supports the app but is never required to unlock features. Kanji meanings and readings are derived from KANJIDIC2. JLPT level assignments are community-based estimates; the JLPT does not publish official vocabulary or kanji lists for the current N1–N5 tests. Kanji A Day contains no advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking.
