Drop in at the top of the mountain and look down the fall line. JustSki puts you behind your own goggles — no camera hovering overhead, just the piste rushing at you, your ski tips in view, and the run rolling away beneath them. TWENTY MILES AN HOUR, AND EVERY ONE OF THEM EARNED Your top speed is 20 mph. Hit the boost and it doubles for five seconds, then you wait ten for it back. Gravity does the rest: a steep pitch pulls you along without touching the throttle, and a rise saps your speed no matter how hard you push. FOUR MOUNTAINS, NONE OF THEM KIND Powder Valley is wide and forgiving. Pine Ridge crowds you with trees. Glacier Pass is narrow and icy, and your edges will not always bite. Volcano Peak is four miles of cracked, smoking mountain. JUMP IT OR WEAR IT Cracks of lava split the piste. Push the stick up as you jump — how far you push is how much air you get — and the widest ones need the boost as well. Some runs simply stop and pick up again on a slope set off to one side and lower down. Miss that one and it is a long way to the valley floor. SNOWBALLS DO NOT MISS BY ACCIDENT They come down the mountain on an intercept course, aimed at where you are going to be. Carve out of the way, or jump clean over them. RACE ANYONE Take on a bot at three difficulties, or race a friend in the same room over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. No accounts, no servers, no sign-in. Or take a free run and just chase your own best time. SKI FOR GOLD Sail over a rock and pocket two gold, a snowman or an ice boulder five. Finish a run for a hundred, beat your own record for a hundred and fifty, beat every rival for two hundred. Spend it on ski suits, on skis you will be looking at all the way down, and on tricks — somersaults you can throw off a lip, if you have the air to land them. Come down mid-rotation and you are eating snow. Someone in the corner is watching, and they will let you know when you get it right. No adverts. No in-app purchases. No account. Nothing is collected and nothing leaves your device. Works on a plane.
