Jolt makes published earthquake, tsunami, and evacuation information in Japan easier to read. AUTOMATIC ALERTS With notifications allowed, Jolt monitors Japan Meteorological Agency updates even when the app is closed. Choose a minimum Shindo and a monitoring area. Tsunami advisories and warnings are always included. Alerts follow published JMA reports. Jolt is not an Earthquake Early Warning service. SEE WHAT HAPPENED View recent JMA earthquake reports on a clear map. Open an event for magnitude, maximum Shindo, depth, origin time, coordinates, and the latest published tsunami status. FIND AN EVACUATION SITE Use your location to see nearby evacuation sites published by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan. Sites designated for tsunami evacuation are marked clearly. Choose a site and open walking directions in Apple Maps. USE YOUR LANGUAGE Jolt supports 50 languages for its interface and key safety guidance. It follows your iPhone language by default, and you can choose another language in the app. Remote alert text is currently available in English and Japanese. WIDGETS AND LIVE ACTIVITIES Add Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets for recent earthquake status. Eligible alerts can start or update a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. CHECK THE SOURCE Earthquake and tsunami details link to JMA. Evacuation site information includes its GSI source and designation details when available. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Precise location stays on your iPhone. If you enable regional alerts, Jolt sends the selected prefecture, not your coordinates, to its notification service. No account is required. Jolt has no ads and does not track you across apps or websites. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION Jolt is an independent app. It is not affiliated with JMA, GSI, or the Japanese government. Information and notifications can be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. Do not use Jolt as your only warning system. Follow official emergency alerts and instructions. If you feel strong shaking or are near the coast, move to safety immediately without waiting for an app.
