Store description excerpt
JalwaHub is for the part of the evening before the film starts — the forty minutes lost to scrolling, the watchlist you added to and never opened, the question of what to actually put on tonight. It is a companion, not a player. JalwaHub does not stream or host anything. It helps you choose, plan and remember; the watching happens wherever you already watch. FRONT ROW The preview follows you. Slide the strip and the card above it changes as you go — poster, year, runtime, genre, rating, director — so you can look through a shelf of films without opening a single one. Below it, the catalogue laid out as a wall and grouped into bands: Held Over, Three-hour epics, Still new, Before the multiplex. STACKS The catalogue filed like a library rather than dressed like a shop window. One column of cards under sticky headers, re-filed the moment you change the order — A–Z, rating, year or length — and narrowed by Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam or by genre. Search runs across titles, cast, directors and genres at once. INTERVAL Indian cinema's intermission, put to work. Choose a film and a start time and JalwaHub lays the evening out on a clock: Act One, a real break where a theatrical cut would take it, then Act Two — with the times printed, lights down to final credits. It writes the card for the break as well: a line about where the story stands that names no character and gives nothing away, and one small suggestion for the fifteen minutes. Every minute on that screen is worked out on your phone rather than guessed at. SAFAR A journey through films, one at a time. Start anywhere and JalwaHub offers the next one, saying in a single line what carried over — a director, a face, a register, a decade, a preoccupation. The chain grows into a route you can walk back along, and any earlier stop can be turned off in a different direction. Journeys are saved and picked up later. KEEP Your list and your own writing in one place. Save titles from anywhere in the app, mark what you have seen, and write your own entries with a picture from your library, a rating out of ten, private notes and tags — Rewatchable, Overrated, Mind-Bending, Feel Good, Classic. A tally at the top tells you how many hours of viewing you owe yourself. READING, ASKING, ARGUING Every film carries a short written take, spoiler-free by design. Ask a question about a film and get an answer that refuses to tell you how it ends. Or take the ten-question quiz and find out whether you were really watching. MADE QUIETLY Graphite and a single gold accent. No autoplay, no carousels moving on their own, nothing that lights up to keep you in the app a minute longer than you meant to be. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account and no sign-up. Your list, your entries, your notes, your journeys and your evenings stay on your device. Film data comes from a public film database. Written commentary is generated and can occasionally be wrong — treat it as an opinion in the room, not a verdict.
