戌の日とは十二支の戌に当たる日です。12日毎に戌の日が有ります。 戌(犬)は多くの子を産み、お産が軽いことからも「安産の守り神」といわれています。 安定期に入る妊娠5ヶ月目の最初の戌の日に腹帯を巻いて神社に安産祈願「戌の日参り（帯祝い）」をすることが、日本独自の風習として伝えられてきました。 戌の日参りでは、まず安産祈願のご祈祷を受け、妊婦のおなかに腹帯と呼ばれる帯を巻きます。最近は帯をいただくだけの場合もあります。 安定期とはいっても妊婦さんの体はデリケート。体調に変化が生じたら参拝を取りやめるなど体に負担が掛からないようにしましょう。
