To date, it has been successfully held in Hong Kong for five consecutive editions. Over the past five years, the forum’s brand power, global influence, and reach have steadily grown, establishing it as an essential platform and landmark event driving prosperity and progress across the global shipping supply chain. Today, the global geopolitical landscape is undergoing deep realignment, protectionism is rising, critical maritime routes face heightened risks, and shipping markets are experiencing severe volatility. Concurrently, the dual transitions toward green, low-carbon development and smart digitization are accelerating. The industry chain has entered a brand-new phase where security is prioritized, resilience is fundamental, and collaboration drives success. Under the theme "Linking the World, Anchoring the Future," the 2026 World Maritime Merchants Forum will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on November 16. The event will gather global shipping elites, leading experts, upstream and downstream industry enterprises, and key policymakers to collectively map out new industry chain frameworks and systemic strategies in this era of historic transformation. Addressing the defining issues of our time, this year’s forum will feature in-depth discussions on core topics, including geopolitical risk mitigation, green transition pathways, digital and intelligent empowerment, and supply chain security. The forum will also host launch ceremonies for the "Electronic Logbook" and the upgraded "Belt Road Intelligent Trade & Transportation Chain(BRITC)." In addition, panel discussions featuring representatives from internationally renowned classification societies, financial institutions, and exchanges will explore hot-button topics such as maritime finance, insurance coverage, green transition, and smart technology application. On November 17, a series of specialized forums covering sector-specific areas—such as shipping markets, legal and insurance affairs, port logistics, maritime finance, and shipbuilding and repair—will take place, allowing participants to engage and exchange insights based on their specific business needs.
