In accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language", the exam for obtaining a certificate of proficiency in the state (Ukrainian) language will start on July 16, 2021. The purpose of the exam is to determine the level of proficiency in the state language of persons applying for election or appointment to the positions specified in Parts 1, 2 of Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine "On Ensuring the Functioning of the Ukrainian Language as the State Language", in particular: • deputies of local councils, officials of local self-government bodies; • civil servants; • officers serving on contract military service; • senior (middle and senior) members of the National Police, other law enforcement and intelligence agencies; • private, non-commissioned and non-commissioned officers of the National Police, other law enforcement and intelligence agencies; • prosecutors; • judges; • lawyers; • notaries; • managers of educational institutions of all forms of ownership; • pedagogical, scientific-pedagogical and scientific workers; • medical workers of state and communal health care institutions. The exam for the level of proficiency in the state language contains three parts: "Language culture", "Reading" and "Speaking". Questions from "Language culture" give a person the opportunity to demonstrate the ability to comply with norms at all language levels, to demonstrate lexical and word-formation skills (understanding the expressive potential of synonyms and antonyms; the accuracy of the use of homonyms and paronyms; the ability to avoid colloquial words, jargon, slang, tautology; the correct use of word-formation tools to form the names of persons by profession, position, place of residence); knowledge in the field of business phraseology (stationery, stamps, language clichés); the ability to correctly apply the expressive possibilities of grammatical forms in an official business style; stylistic skill (established forms of structuring spoken and written text; forms of interpersonal communication). The tasks of the "Reading" part are aimed at testing a person's ability to fully understand the read text, critically interpret it, highlight the main or special information, understand the details of the text and establish relationships between its parts. The "Speech" part involves a monologue message on a given topic, in which a person can demonstrate the ability to initiate a conversation, maintain and complete it, express his own opinion on the proposed topic during communication. With the help of the proposed educational application, which contains a list of test questions with multiple-choice answers, you have the opportunity to take the mock test an unlimited number of times, which greatly facilitates and speeds up the preparation.
