The Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage and the Shikoku 20 Special Temple Pilgrimage – the sum of the 108 temples equals the 108 worldly desires of humanity – are popular pilgrimages, which is why this app was created. Similar to the previous "Ohenro Navi" app, you can view information about your desired temple from a list and map of temples, and you can even call temples with lodging facilities to make reservations. While the map selection function already displays both the 88 temples and the 20 special temples separately, we have now added a function to display all 108 temples on the map. Accordingly, the markers for the 88 temples have been changed to red-covered staffs, and those for the 20 special temples to blue-covered staffs, making the differences between the pilgrimages clearer. The design is simple (unadorned), but supervised by an occupational therapist specializing in assistive devices, the text and buttons are large and easy to use, resulting in a user-friendly screen layout. While primarily designed for walking pilgrimages, it can also be used for car pilgrimages. Some parts of the pilgrimage route are not guided by navigation systems, so be sure to ask people for directions or consult maps from the Henromichi Preservation Cooperation Association to confirm your location as you go.
