四書五經（繁體）：四書、五經的合稱，泛指儒家經典著作。 四書指的是《論語》《孟子》《大學》《中庸》，五經指《詩經》《尚書》《禮記》《周易》《春秋》。《禮記》通常包括三禮，即《儀禮》《周禮》《禮記》。《春秋》由于文字過于簡略，通常與解釋《春秋》的《左傳》《公羊傳》《谷梁傳》分別合刊。四書之名始于宋朝，五經之名始于漢武帝。 《大學》《中庸》《論語》《孟子》合稱為四書，為儒家傳道、授業的基本教材。幾百年來，“四書”廣泛流傳，其中許多語句已成為膾炙人口的格言警句。 《詩經》《尚書》《禮記》《周易》《春秋》，合稱“五經”。 五經是儒家作為研究基礎的古代五本經典書籍的合稱，相傳它們都經過儒家創始人之一的孔子的編輯或修改。
