He died on Thursday, July 16, 2015. He grew up in a family whose breadwinner worked in agriculture. Sayed Metwally's father was looking to the sky, praying to God to grant him a son after the four daughters, so that he would be a man and a refuge for them after his death. The mother was longing for a son who would stand next to his four sisters after her departure. She prayed to God to bless her with a son to give him the ability to memorize the Holy Qur’an so that he would be one of the clergy and a servant of the Book of God Almighty. God responded to the parents’ requests and blessed them with a child to instill hope in their souls and instill tranquility and reassurance in their hearts. Sheikh Sayed Metwally Abdel-Al continued to frequent Sheikha Maryam’s books until he completed memorizing the entire Qur’an when he was twelve years old. ⬅️ Sheikh Sayed Metwally Abdel-Al later obtained permission to succeed his teacher, Sheikh Al-Sawy, to become a reciter of the Qur’an and authorized for his village Al-Fadadna.
