Author: Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Hanbal ibn Hilal ibn Asad al-Shaybani, Abu Abdullah, Imam of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah, and one of the four Imams of Islamic jurisprudence. He was born in Baghdad in 164 AH and grew up loving knowledge and Hadith. He traveled to several countries in pursuit of it until he became one of the leading scholars of Hadith and jurisprudence in his time. He was known for his unwavering adherence to the Sunnah and his steadfastness during trials, particularly the controversy surrounding the createdness of the Quran. He endured hardship, imprisonment, and beatings without wavering from his position. He authored numerous works, most notably "Al-Musnad," a collection of a vast number of Prophetic traditions.
