Store description excerpt
This is a household ledger that allows couples to look at the same numbers. "My spouse must be taking care of it." Have you ever verified if that statement is actually true? If you live without knowing each other's financial situations, someone will eventually have to pay the cost of that neglect. Couple Note cannot make you rich. However, there is one thing it can do. It brings money out of the 'thing to look at later' and into the 'thing to look at together now.' Enabling couples to look at the same screen and make decisions together—that is what this app does. ■ Suitable for Couples Like This - Couples who earn and manage their own money separately and therefore do not know each other's assets well - Couples with multiple loans who find it difficult to immediately state their net worth - Couples who want to see the state of their home in numbers, not just intuition ■ What is Included - Household Ledger — Couples record entries in the same ledger. It keeps a record of who made changes and when. - Financial Statements — The balance sheet and income statement are generated immediately upon entry. There is no separate settlement process. - Budget — View the budget, actual results, and difference side-by-side in the income statement. You can create a budget on the spot by tapping the difference. - Shared Schedule — This is a family calendar. It supports monthly and yearly recurring schedules as well as multi-day events. - Family Routine — Divide and check off household chores and regular tasks. ■ You don't need to know debits and credits The biggest hurdle in double-entry bookkeeping is debits and credits. That is why we designed it so you can use it even without knowing those concepts. If assets or liabilities increase, record it as a positive number; if they decrease, record it as a negative number. You simply need to select the corresponding account that caused the increase or decrease. The app balances the debits and credits. However, reading financial statements remains. And that must be done by the couple together. If only one partner can read financial statements while managing joint assets and liabilities, they cannot discuss the current situation and make decisions together. ■ Why Double-Entry Bookkeeping? Our households often incur debt, ranging from credit card bills and car installments to personal loans, Jeonse loans, mortgages, and Jeonse deposits. However, single-entry household ledgers cannot handle debt. At best, they only manage to jot down loan balances in a corner. The same applies to assets. It’s not just savings and installment deposits; there are also financial products like stocks, funds, bonds, savings insurance, and retirement pensions, as well as real estate, yet you cannot view them all in one place. Since assets and liabilities cannot be managed together, you cannot know the most important number: how much is our household's net worth? Double-entry bookkeeping tells you that number every day. ■ How many
