Store description excerpt
Why Should You Learn the Holy Quran? Learning the Holy Quran is among the noblest and most esteemed sciences in a Muslim's life. There are numerous reasons why learning it is a religious and worldly necessity, including: 1. Obeying God and His Messenger Learning the Quran is a response to the Prophet Muhammad's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: “The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it” (reported by Al-Bukhari). This path leads to goodness in this life and the Hereafter. 2. Understanding Beliefs and Acts of Worship The Quran is the primary constitution for Muslims. Through it, one learns about their Lord, His attributes, the stories of the prophets, and the Islamic rulings that govern prayer, zakat (obligatory charity), and daily transactions. 3. Earning Great Reward and Good Deeds Reading and reflecting upon the Quran is a profitable transaction with God, for every letter earns a good deed, and each good deed is multiplied tenfold. Furthermore, those proficient in the Quran will be with the “noble and righteous scribes” (referring to the scribes of the Prophet Muhammad). 4. Tranquility of the Heart and Healing of the Soul The Quran is a cure for what is in the hearts and a comfort for the souls, as Allah Almighty says: {Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest}. It is an effective means of relieving anxiety and stress. 5. Correcting Speech and Learning Arabic The Quran is the pinnacle of eloquence and clarity. Learning it helps in mastering the Arabic language, the articulation of letters, and correct pronunciation, which positively impacts a person's confidence and communication skills. 6. Intercession on the Day of Judgment The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us that the Quran will intercede for its companions on the Day of Judgment, saying: “Recite the Quran, for it will come on the Day of Judgment as an intercessor for its companions.” 7. Building Morals and Conduct The Quran cultivates patience, trustworthiness, kindness to parents, and justice. A Muslim who learns the Quran adopts its morals and becomes a beneficial member of his community. Who was Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husari? Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husari (1917-1980) was a prominent Egyptian Quran reciter, the head of all Egyptian Quranic recitation schools, and one of the leading figures in Quranic recitation in the Islamic world. He was renowned for his mastery of the ten canonical readings (Qira'at). He was the first to record the Quran in its entirety for Egyptian radio. He authored numerous works on Quranic sciences and dedicated his life to serving the Quran and Sunnah.
