Store description excerpt
"Guppa!" is an app that allows you to easily record your child's sleep, wake-up, and eating habits—key elements of their daily routine. A well-organized routine will help them sleep soundly and wake up quickly. Sleep has a significant impact on a child's development, so visualize their entire life and help them develop a healthy, happy, and enjoyable daily routine. Why is sleep so important? Because the time a child is sleeping is a time for their brain to "create," "nurture," and "protect." When awake, their brain is working at full capacity to absorb current information. However, once a child falls asleep, information input is minimized, allowing the brain to connect information absorbed during the day (creation), organize, consolidate, and facilitate retrieval of memories (nurture), and flush out debris (garbage) accumulated in the brain from the gaps in neurons (protection), preparing for new activities the next day. In other words, sleep has a significant impact on the growth and development of young children. Even more importantly, it also helps to form an internal clock. The human body contains an estimated 37 trillion cells, each equipped with a clock that performs its specific function at the appropriate time (chronomedicine, chronobiology). When these cells function in harmony, both the body and mind are in good health; when the clocks are out of sync, physical and mental health problems manifest. This is regulated by the internal clock located in the suprachiasmatic nucleus of the brain. The internal clock controls circadian rhythms (roughly a 24-hour cycle that leads to daytime activity and nighttime rest), and is determined by the timing of daily sleep and wake-up. Building a strong internal clock in children is the first step toward a healthy life, both physically and mentally. While a day is 24 hours long, and the school world operates on an exact 24-hour cycle, the human body's internal clock is slightly longer than 24 hours. Therefore, if left to its own devices, children tend to gradually go to bed later and later. This discrepancy with school time is known as "social jet lag," and it can eventually lead to school refusal and physical and mental illness. The timing of going to bed and waking up helps to align the time of the school community with the time of the body and reset any discrepancies. In particular, aligning your wake-up time and looking out the window when you wake up will wake up your brain and correct any discrepancies. Eating breakfast also wakes up your internal organs, allowing you to start your day feeling refreshed. While it is important to know if your body's internal clock is functioning properly, it cannot be measured like fever or blood pressure. However, by keeping a record of your sleep and wake-up times, you can get a sense of whether your body clock is functioning properly. The earlier you set your clock, the less discrepancy there will be, and even if it does, it will be easier to correct, making
