Store description excerpt

The Madinah Mushaf, new edition, Hafs 'an 'Asim recitation, divided into pages, recited by: Reciter Yasser Salama Reciter Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husari Reciter Muhammad Ayyub Reciter Saud Al-Shuraim Reciter Saber Abdel-Hakim Reciter Mustafa Al-Lahouni The Hafs 'an 'Asim recitation is a method of reciting the Holy Quran transmitted by the Kufan reciter Hafs ibn Sulayman, from his teacher, Sheikh and Imam 'Asim ibn Abi Al-Najud. Hafs adhered to this method in all his recitations of the Holy Quran, mastering it and becoming a skilled teacher of it after his teacher, Sheikh 'Asim. He had many students who learned from him the mastery of 'Asim's recitation. Due to his mastery and proficiency in this recitation, his memorization of the Holy Quran during his lifetime, and his great fame for his distinctive recitation of the Quranic verses according to the 'Asim recitation, scholars have attributed the narration of 'Asim's recitation to him. Who is Imam Asim? Imam Asim is Asim ibn Abi al-Najud al-Asadi, a reciter from Kufa. He was the leading teacher of Quranic recitation there, and later, scholars of Tajweed recognized him as one of the ten most famous reciters due to his eloquence, skill in Tajweed, and mastery of the art. Many students learned from him, later becoming skilled reciters in Tajweed. He himself was a student of prominent figures who had learned from the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who had received their recitations from him. Among these were Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami and Zirr ibn Hubaysh. Who is the reciter Hafs? The reciter Hafs is Hafs ibn Sulayman ibn al-Mughirah, also known as Abu Umar. He learned recitation from Imam Asim through direct instruction, as he lived with him (he was Asim's stepson). He would recite to him and repeat before him until he mastered the recitation skillfully. He was a master of the rules of recitation and Tajweed, and consequently, he taught many students for a long time until his death.
