In his book, "The Signs of Those Who Sign on Behalf of the Lord of the Worlds," Ibn al-Qayyim addresses both the obvious and the unexpected. He begins by classifying scholars and clarifying their impact according to their categories, thus clarifying matters and giving due credit to those who undertook to issue legal rulings for the Muslim community based on authentic Quranic verses and Sunnah, striving to uphold truth and refute falsehood to the best of their ability. He then lists the Companions of the Prophet who issued legal rulings, mentioning their rulings based on adherence to texts, their own understanding, and their independent reasoning. He also includes many rulings issued by those who plagiarized and misrepresented the texts, focusing on refuting many of the tricks devised and disseminated by those who neglected piety in order to pass off their rulings. Furthermore, he clarifies the recommended and obligatory acts. He corrected what needed correction, relying on authentic texts or the methodology of a noble Companion. This Companion's approach, based on his profound understanding of the teachings of the Prophetic school, served as a foundation for the text, given his elevated faith, vast piety, purity of heart, and sound understanding grounded in flawless Arabic. Due to the importance of this treatise and the esteemed position of its author, I have ensured its publication in this edition, meticulously edited and verified, as with all the books of Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may God have mercy on him.
