InkBay is a digital guide for an Amazon jungle fishing lodge deep in the Iquitos region of Peru. Built for guests planning their stay, the app presents the lodge grounds, fishing expeditions, and accommodations in a cinematic landscape format. The app is built around a guide character called El Capitán, a weathered river captain who appears in the corner of the screen to offer tips, tell stories, and point out what to look for. He never speaks aloud — his guidance appears in text bubbles, and he can be summoned or dismissed with a tap. Users can explore a panoramic view of the base camp, pan across the river, and descend below the water's surface to see where different fish species hold and how to target them. A catalog of expeditions — from full-day peacock bass trips to dawn popper sessions and night catfishing — helps guests understand what each outing involves. A season calendar shows when the Amazon's water levels make each trip possible. Beyond fishing, the app includes a species codex with illustrations and techniques for eight iconic Amazon fish, a catch journal for logging catch, folklore stories of the Yacuruna water people, and an animated knot-tying school. A package builder lets guests assemble their stay — accommodation, nights, expeditions, and extra fishing sessions — and send the complete plan as a structured inquiry message without typing a thing. The visual design draws on Peruvian archaeological aesthetics: black backgrounds, restrained orange accents, Inca geometric patterns at low opacity, and natural material textures. The jungle is shown through silhouette and depth rather than lush greens, creating an atmosphere of quiet confidence rather than tourist spectacle.
