Store description excerpt

The ingredient list on the back of a cosmetics bottle is printed small, in names you have never seen before. IngreScan reads that list from a photo, matches it against a dictionary of more than 500 ingredients, and shows you only the ones that matter for the skin profile you set. It does not list everything. It points at what matters. ■ Photograph it, and it reads Point the camera at the ingredient list on the back and the app recognises the text and separates it into single ingredients. The reading happens on your phone, and the photo is never sent anywhere. You can also pick a photo you already have in your gallery. ■ Judged against your skin, not everyone's The same ingredient does not trouble everyone. The app judges against the profile you set on first run, and you can change it any time in Settings. · Skin types: sensitive, acne prone, atopic, rosacea · Categories to avoid: fragrance, preservatives, essential oils, surfactants, alcohol, silicones and 16 in all · Your own blacklist: add the ingredients you have already reacted to (50 to start) Every ingredient lands in one of five levels: safe, caution, warning, avoid, unidentified. Each one comes with the reason it was judged that way. ■ The 26 declarable fragrance allergens The 26 fragrance substances the European Union requires to be named on the label are flagged separately. If several of them appear in one product, the app tells you that too. ■ Your history stays on this device Each scan is kept with its label photo so you can look it up later. Photos and history are stored on the device only and are never uploaded. No account, no sign in. ■ Also · One reminder a day to check a label (set the time, or turn it off) · Light and dark themes · Ingredient data: EU CosIng (European Commission) IngreScan is free and shows ads. [Please note] This app does not provide medical diagnosis and cannot replace an allergy test. Its judgements are reference information based on publicly available data. If your skin reacts, speak to a dermatologist. An ingredient may show as unidentified if the label is blurred or the name is not in the dictionary yet. The dictionary keeps growing.
