The greeting cards going round on WhatsApp are images somebody else made, and most of us have sent and received the same one. Igeret is built against that. Here you make the card rather than pick one: the illustration is the app's, and everything else on it is yours. Each of the sixty-nine designs here was drawn for this card — sixty-eight original illustrations, not a library of ready-made images. The app is built outward from the Hebrew calendar, so it opens on today's occasion rather than on a list. And it remembers what you have already sent. Shabbat comes round fifty-two times a year; the card opens on one that has not. Pick an occasion, pick a design, write a line of your own, and send a finished card. SIXTY-NINE DESIGNS, EACH ONE DRAWN Every design has its own layout, palette and illustration — not a recolouring of the one before it. THE CARD IS YOURS To, the greeting, and From, in your own words; every occasion comes with a default greeting you can replace. The text is drawn into the design itself, not laid over a finished picture as a caption. With Pro the same is true of your own photograph and of a signature you draw with your finger. THE CARD OPENS ON ONE YOU HAVE NOT SENT The thumbnails are ordered by what has rested longest. The choice starts with what you have not seen lately. TWO LANGUAGES, CHOSEN SEPARATELY The card's language is set independently of the app's, so you can send a Hebrew card from an English interface, or the reverse.
