Every gardener starts a notebook. Almost nobody keeps one past June. GardenLife is the one that sticks — because it does the remembering for you. What you planted, where you planted it, what ate it, what you picked, and what's still sitting in the pantry. THE GARDEN LOG Track every plant by crop, variety, planting date and bed. Add photos. Log harvests as you pick them, with quantities and units, and correct a mistyped entry later without unpicking everything else. PLAN YOUR BEDS, SQUARE BY SQUARE Lay out a bed on a square-foot grid and tap to plant. Every square is named like a spreadsheet cell, so "B4" means something when you come back in July. Companion planting is checked as you go — green rings for good neighbours, red for bad — and a layout check lists every conflict at once. Draw borders around beds and paths, resize the bed as it grows, save season snapshots, export the whole plan as an image, or share it with another gardener as a code. PESTS AND PROBLEMS Photograph a sick leaf or an unfamiliar bug and get a starting point: a likely condition, a confidence level, and organic treatment steps. Log the incident, then close it out — pest destroyed, plant killed, or left to nature — and your plant counts update themselves. SEEDS AND PANTRY Keep a seed inventory with brand, year and viability, and a planting calendar that knows your zone. Turn a harvest glut into next year's seed stock in a couple of taps. Ask what you could cook from whatever is actually in the pantry right now. CARE REMINDERS Watering, feeding, pruning — set reminders by frequency and difficulty, get a notification when they're due, and tick them off in one tap. A MAP FOR WILD FINDS Drop a pin or draw an area for mushrooms, berries, herbs and trees. Photograph a find for an identification starting point. See public land access boundaries and cycling routes on the map, check sunrise and sunset for trip planning, and export everything as GPX. Wild food is never guesswork you should outsource. Identifications are a starting point, not a verdict — GardenLife asks you to confirm spore prints, lookalikes and a positive ID before it will save a collected find, and it will never tell you something is safe to eat.
