Idea Pattarai is Tamil Nadu's open founder community — one place where the people building the state's startup ecosystem actually find each other. Founders, investors, mentors and incubators (TBIs) join a single curated network. Every member is reviewed and approved by our team before they get in, so the conversations you have here are with real, verified people rather than an open feed of strangers. WHAT YOU CAN DO Discover and attend startup events Browse workshops, demo days, pitch sessions and meetups happening across Tamil Nadu. Register in a few taps, answer whatever the host asks at signup, and carry your ticket as a QR code you show at the door. Add any event straight to your calendar so you don't miss it. Talk in focused forums Join topic forums, start threads, run polls, and tag posts so the right people find them. Mention someone to pull them into a conversation. Forums can be open to everyone or limited to a particular kind of member, and any member can propose a new one. Message people directly One-to-one and group chats with images, replies, reactions, forwarding and search. Reach a mentor, follow up with an investor after an event, or keep a working group together between meetups. Build a profile that means something Founders show their company, sector and stage. Investors show their fund, focus areas and ticket size. Mentors show their expertise. TBIs show their programmes and facilities. Investors and mentors can lock their profile when they want privacy. Stay current Push notifications and an in-app inbox for approvals, replies, mentions, event reminders and announcements — with per-category controls so you decide what's worth interrupting you for. For organisers Community staff can publish events, review registrations, check attendees in at the door, run announcements, moderate forums, and see how each event actually performed — views, registrations, attendance and post-event ratings. HOW MEMBERSHIP WORKS Idea Pattarai is admin-gated by design. You sign up, pick whether you're a founder, investor, mentor or TBI, complete your profile, and our team reviews it. You'll be notified once you're approved, usually within one business day (IST). This is what keeps the community worth being in. Membership is for founders, investors, mentors and TBIs based in Tamil Nadu, wherever in the world you happen to be right now. An Indian (+91) mobile number is required to join. Sign-in uses that number or your email and a one-time password — no separate account to remember.
