Store description excerpt
HyperDimension Chess takes classic chess into a fully three-dimensional 8×8×8 cube. Play across 512 squares and eight layers, where familiar ideas gain a new axis and every position becomes a spatial challenge. HDC does not replace chess. It extends it consistently. King, Queen, Rooks, Bishops, Knights and Pawns keep their identities while their movement patterns expand through the cube. They are joined by the Duke, a new noble piece that combines rook lines and two-dimensional diagonals, but not full 3D space diagonals. SEE THE WHOLE POSITION • CubeView shows the complete position as a rotatable and zoomable 3D cube. • BoardView lets you make precise moves in 2D. • LayerView and FileView let you inspect different slices of the same position. • Selection previews reveal move targets, captures and threatened squares. PLAY AND STUDY • Challenge the AI with adjustable search time and depth. • Use the built-in analysis to examine candidate moves and variations. • Play locally with two people on one device. • Undo and redo moves, review the move list, and save or load games. CHESS, EXPANDED INTO SPACE HyperDimension Chess includes horizontal and vertical castling, four-direction en passant, promotion to Queen, Rook, Bishop, Knight, or Duke, and a coordinate system built for three dimensions. Whether you call it 3D chess, spatial chess, cube chess, or chess across eight layers, HyperDimension Chess offers a coherent ruleset for players ready to think beyond the flat board. Classic chess. A new axis.
