HK Cantonese teaches Hong Kong Cantonese from zero. Not a vocabulary list to memorise — it follows how language is actually learned: sounds first, then words and patterns, then real conversations, then speaking out loud. 【Start with Jyutping】 20 initials, 58 finals and 6 tones, each with example words and native audio. Tones are the hardest part of Cantonese, so we draw them on a musical staff — high or low, rising or falling, you see it instead of guessing. 【Record yourself, find out what's off】 Read a phrase out loud and the app compares it character by character, showing which ones landed and which didn't. It goes beyond individual sounds: it also tracks the pitch contour of your voice to check whether the six tones are actually rising and falling the way they should. Everyone's vocal range differs, so tone calibration has you read six example words once — after that, scoring uses your own voice as the baseline instead of penalising you for a naturally low or high pitch. 【776 words, 634 example sentences】 35 everyday topics: greetings, transport, asking directions, dim sum, Hong Kong sweet soups, street food, shopping, seeing a doctor, typhoon warnings — the things people actually say in Hong Kong, not textbook lines. 【30 dialogue units】 First meeting, taxi to the airport, ordering at a cha chaan teng, haggling, seeing a doctor. 566 lines of dialogue, each playable and repeatable line by line. 【Spaced repetition, so it doesn't fade】 What you study and practise gets scheduled automatically. Get it right and it comes back later — 1 day, 2 days, 4 days, a week, two weeks, a month. Get it wrong and it returns tomorrow. Open the app and you see exactly what's due today. 【Practice without speaking】 On the bus, late at night, or with people around — speaking out loud isn't always an option. The review tab has multiple choice: listen and pick the word, see the word and pick the right reading, or read the meaning and pick the word.
