Store description excerpt
Your apiary's record book — walk the inspection checklist in the beeyard, and never lose track of what you saw. Hive Log is a private, offline beekeeping log for hobbyists and sideliners. Open the hive, walk the checklist, close it up — and the record grows. Every hive inspection, every queen, every varroa count and every harvest, kept in one place on your own phone. No account, no sign-in, no cloud. WALK THE CHECKLIST, IN GLOVES The inspection screen is one column of big targets, built to be used standing over an open hive with a smoker in your hand: • Queen seen · eggs seen — yes, no, or not checked • Brood pattern — good, spotty, or none seen • Stores — low, OK, or heavy • Temperament — calm, nervous, or defensive • Supers on the stack, counted with one thumb • Varroa count — your own number, recorded as you measured it • Actions taken and free notes, in your own words Nothing is required. Log what you looked at, skip what you didn't, and close up. EVERY HIVE, AT A GLANCE The home screen is your whole apiary: each hive with its last visit, its next check due, and the queen's marking colour on the ring. Name your yards, record hive type — Langstroth, top-bar, Warré — and mark a colony past when it's gone, without losing its history. NEVER MISS A HIVE CHECK Set your own inspection rhythm and Hive Log dates the next visit from your last one. One quiet reminder a day at most, naming the hive that needs you — and hives coming due together are collapsed into a single line instead of five. Reminders are local to your phone; there is no push server. Notifications are only ever requested when you set your first schedule, never at launch. TRACK WHAT THE SEASON YIELDS Log every extraction with its weight, frames and notes, and watch the season total build hive by hive. Weights are kept in a single canonical unit and shown in pounds or kilograms — flip the toggle any time and nothing you already recorded changes meaning. Northern and southern hemisphere seasons are both supported, so an apiary record in Australia or New Zealand buckets the way its keeper actually thinks. YOUR APIARY'S STORY, CHARTED See visits per month across the year, your brood-pattern tally, your varroa counts plotted as a series, and harvest totals season by season. Every chart restates what you logged — nothing is predicted, scored or graded. TAKE YOUR RECORDS WITH YOU Export the whole record book as a CSV file of every inspection and harvest, or back it up to a single file you keep. It's your data; it should be portable. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Your apiary records stay on your device — no account, no cloud. Hive Log asks for no camera, no photos and no location: a yard is simply a name you type. It works with the phone in airplane mode in the middle of a field, which is exactly where beekeeping happens. No ads, no tracking, no sign-up. QUEENS, YARDS AND COLONIES Record each hive's type — Langstroth, top-bar, Warré — the yard it stands in, and the year and marking colour of its q
