Store description excerpt
When you move out, being charged for damage you cannot prove was already there is the single most common dispute. What settles it is the record you made on the day you moved in. Heyalog documents the condition of a rental with photos, following the categories in Japan's MLIT guidelines on restoring rental properties, and turns them into a PDF report you can bring to the final walkthrough. ■ Move-in documentation is completely free Guided photo points, room by room Forty-six points across nine areas — entrance, bedrooms, Japanese-style room, living/kitchen, bathroom, washroom, toilet, balcony and equipment — are ready from the start. For a bedroom that means the whole floor, all four walls, ceiling, fittings, window and sash, and lighting. Shooting tips are shown per room type. A progress ring so nothing is missed Every point you record raises the ring. Fill it to 100% and you will not be left wishing you had photographed one more thing. Tags and comments Sort findings as scratch, stain, damage, equipment fault or other, and add a note. Capture times are recorded automatically and cannot be edited in the app. Meter readings and key counts Record electricity, gas and water readings plus how many keys and cards you received. These cannot be captured in a photo, yet they are a frequent point of dispute at settlement. PDF report, language chosen independently Cover page, checklist by location, photo ledger, meters and keys, notes, and a confirmation block for both parties. The appendix lists a SHA-256 hash for every photo, so any later substitution can be detected. The report language is independent of the app language, so you can hand a Japanese report to a Japanese management company while using the app in English. ■ Premium, one-time purchase Same-angle move-out photos Your move-in photo is overlaid on the camera at partial transparency. Line up the same framing and shoot, and the two line up exactly. Move-in vs move-out comparison PDF A spread with move-in on the left and move-out on the right, including the elapsed tenancy calculated automatically — useful when discussing normal wear and tear. Backup export and restore Export everything, original photos included, as a ZIP and load it on a new device. A tenancy lasts years, so this is what protects you when you change phones. ■ Privacy Photos and records stay on your device. Nothing is sent to a server. No account, no ads, no tracking. One-time purchase, so there is no subscription to cancel. ■ Please note This app is a tool for recording and organising. It does not provide legal advice, assess whether a charge is reasonable, negotiate with a landlord or management company on your behalf, or perform any other legal service, and it does not guarantee the legal evidentiary force of your records. For an individual dispute, please consult a consumer affairs body or a qualified lawyer.
