Store description excerpt

$90 FOR A FULL WEEK OF FOOD FOR A FAMILY OF FOUR? Breakfast, lunch, and dinner for seven days, with planned main dishes and sides. That sounds impossible. Hestia was built to see how far a grocery budget can go when the entire week is planned as one connected system instead of seven separate shopping trips. Hestia is not a recipe generator. It is a household food optimization engine. It plans around who is eating, dietary needs, allergens, calorie and protein targets, what is already in your pantry, what groceries cost near you, what package sizes stores actually sell, and how leftovers can carry into the days ahead. A change on Monday can affect Tuesday, Wednesday, and the shopping list that supports the whole week. THE WHOLE WEEK IS ONE SYSTEM. Food in your kitchen is part of the decision, not an afterthought. If you already have eggs, rice, chicken, or half a package left from last week, Hestia can account for that before deciding what needs to be bought. If several meals use the same ingredients, the planner can favor another suitable meal that makes better use of what you already have, as long as it still fits your household’s nutrition and dietary requirements. If dinner creates extra servings, those leftovers can already have a place later in the week before the grocery list is built. Then Hestia totals ingredient demand across the week, subtracts pantry coverage, and converts what remains into realistic purchase quantities. Recipes say ingredients. Stores sell packages. Hestia bridges that gap so the list reflects what you actually need to buy, not seven recipe ingredient lists pasted together. WHAT CAN THAT DO TO THE GROCERY BILL? In Hestia’s family-of-four Thrifty testing, using a 15% protein target and a 75% leftover setting, a full seven-day plan averaged about $90 per week. That includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with planned mains and sides. Your results will vary based on household size, nutrition settings, dietary needs, pantry contents, local prices, store selection, and how much your household uses leftovers. COMPARE THE WHOLE BASKET. One cheap item does not make a cheap grocery trip. For supported stores and products, Hestia compares the complete planned basket so you can see where the week may cost less. The meals can stay the same while the cart changes, and you can compare lower-priced options, Hestia’s Pick, and higher-scoring alternatives with the tradeoffs shown clearly. Health and cost belong in the same plan. The Ember Score grades supported recipes and products from 0 to 100 using nutrition and processing information, while Hestia plans around the people actually eating. Cheap food no one wants is not a bargain, and a nutritionally perfect plan that blows through the grocery budget is not much help either. Real weeks change. Someone works late, a child has practice, or fewer people are home for dinner. Update attendance or swap a dish and Hestia can adjust the remaining week and refresh the shopping plan ar
