With the digital guide of the HD water footprint application we have developed, nephrology dialysis workers and water volunteers will better define the hemodialysis water systems, learn the conditions of producing pure water as much as the hemodialysis treatment needs of the water treatment systems, know the location and characteristics of the clean water sent from the system to the sewer, and avoid the waste of this clean water. will be able to clearly articulate ways of prevention and recovery. With the creation of awareness in the target group, an institutional perspective will develop in this area as well as individual efforts to save water. With the increasing interest in the subject in this group, it will lead to more scientific studies in this field. I am of the opinion that there will be returns in the form of increased interest in savings in hemodialysis centers and recovery methods will be started to be used for reuse of water. The effective use of drinking and utility water and the reduction of consumption depend on minimizing water leakage and losses along the line extending from the facilities where the water is supplied to the points where it reaches the user. Unfortunately, while the maximum acceptable value of this rate is 10%, the rate of water leakage and losses in Turkey is 35% according to the latest official data (TUIK), and 50% according to the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs. By preventing water loss and preventing leaks, not only will our valuable natural resources be saved, but it will also make it possible to reach more users with clean drinking and utility water. I think that the clean water losses caused by hemodialysis water treatment systems are not known enough by the public. With our voice being heard, the measures to be taken institutionally in this area will accelerate the efforts to save money in hemodialysis centers. The loss of clean water will be prevented twice a year (with the maximum occupancy rate) of the Gediz Demirköprü Dam. With the announcement of new information to the public, our work will bring a new awareness to the prevention of clean water loss, and approximately 2.5 million cubic meters of clean water originating from hemodialysis water treatment systems will be prevented from going to the sewerage in our country. With this application, it will make a great contribution to the prevention of water waste in our country and in the world.
