WHAT IT FIXES Tears, creases, folds and missing corners. Water damage, stains, mold spotting and chemical bleeding. Fading and color shift on prints that have sat in the sun. Blur and softness from old scans, or from phone photos of photos. Halftone dots from newspaper and magazine clippings. Black and white photographs you would like to see in color. PICK WHAT YOUR PHOTO NEEDS Full restoration — everything the photo needs, including tears and creases. Fix fading and color — for washed-out or color-shifted prints. Sharpen and enlarge — for low-resolution or soft scans. Colorize — black and white to color. Or describe the problem in your own words and Heirloom works out which repairs to run. WE TELL YOU WHAT WE ACTUALLY DID This is the part other restoration apps do not do. When a photograph is damaged badly enough, no tool can recover detail that is no longer there. It has to fill in the gaps. That can produce a beautiful picture, but it is not the same as recovering the original. So Heirloom labels every result: Faithful restoration — damage repaired, original detail preserved. Partial reconstruction — some areas rebuilt where detail was missing. Reimagined — the source lacked recoverable detail, so this is an interpretation. If you are working on family history, that difference matters. You should know whether you are looking at your great-grandmother's face or a plausible guess at it. Every result comes with a before-and-after view, so you can judge for yourself. CREDITS, NOT A SUBSCRIPTION Most restoration apps charge every month whether you use them or not. Heirloom does not. Buy credits when you need them. They never expire. Come back in a year and they are still there. Three free restorations to start, no credits required. Most photographs cost one to three credits depending on how much work they need, and you see the cost before you start. If a photograph genuinely cannot be improved, you are not charged. YOUR PHOTOS Photographs are processed by our AI providers and deleted immediately afterwards. Your original is deleted from our servers once the restoration is done.
