HearMySilence was born out of a real concern. As the developer of this safety system, I'm a single father of a young daughter. Our family also includes two cats. From the very beginning, a very serious question has been on my mind: If something happens to me and no one notices, what will happen to my daughter and my pets? At first, I tried to address this risk by asking friends and family to contact me at set intervals to check if everything was okay. But you can't expect that from anyone indefinitely, so I decided to develop an automated solution. HearMySilence was designed precisely with this in mind: A personal safety net that reacts when you can no longer react yourself. Simply set when the system should check on your well-being. If you confirm that you're okay, everything remains quiet. If you don't respond, HearMySilence will remind you through several levels of alerts, culminating in a very loud alarm. If you are still unable to react, the security system will send a text message to an emergency contact of your choice. HMS can be used independently, optionally with a backup device as a local failover in case your primary device fails, and with a Wear OS smartwatch. This watch delivers the signals and alarm directly to your wrist, from where you can also confirm that you are okay. You determine the times, the emergency contact, and whether location information, confirmed heart rate, and detected movement should be included in the emergency text message. HearMySilence is not an official emergency service, a medical diagnostic app, or a substitute for the police or emergency services. Its functionality depends on the device, battery, permissions, and cellular network coverage.
