Store description excerpt

The Hayduke Trail is not a trail. It's a route that is approximately 800 miles of canyon country, slickrock, and river crossings across the Colorado Plateau. There are no signs. There is no maintained path. You navigate by landmarks, by instinct, and by the work of the people who walked it before you. This app is a field guide for that route. It puts the waypoints, water sources, alternate routes, and track geometry in your pocket, with full offline support so it works when you're seven days from cell service. What's in the app: * 400+ waypoints including water sources, campsites, road crossings, and points of interest * Water report notes * A suggested route and 20+ sketched-out alternates, including the "official" Hayduke route. * Elevation profiles for every route segment * Offline maps and full offline access once synced * Your GPS location on the map and calculated distances to waypoints * Community notes at waypoints contributed to from other hikers A few things to know before you go: Waypoints and tracks mark a general route corridor. They are not surveyed. GPS coordinates can be off. Trails shown may not exist on the ground. This app is one tool among many, so you should bring a dedicated GPS app like Gaia GPS or Caltopo topo maps with relevant mapping detail and route data, and read the guidebook and other route information before you leave. The Hayduke Trail was created by Mike Coronella and Joe Mitchell. Water research came from Danielle "Hoops" Alling's Hayduke Water Report, Jamal Green (acrossutah.com), and James "Jupiter" Hoher's waypoints, as well as additional sources documented by Jeff Kessler. Most information contained in this app can be freely found on the internet, and is provided without any warranty. This is a passion project, not a commercial product. Use it carefully out there.
