Hallux GPS evolved from our collaboration with The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and their work tracking bats that carry the Ebola virus. Hallux GPS was originally introduced as a GPS tracker for bats. With this app, falconers can not only track a lost falcon but also have the following features at their disposal. • S.O.S. feature throws an electronic net over your bird, with other users’ cooperation. • Encrypted GPS location data to keep your bird’s position secret from others • PINs prevent others from manipulating your birds’ GPS devices • Choice of tracking modes for longer and longer battery life • Post-flight statistics such as maximum speed, maximum altitude, and temperature • Logging of the hunting flight that you can view and share with others
