The Order of San Juan de Dios settled in Córdoba in 1935 with the Home and Clinic of San Rafael and the invaluable work of Brother Bonifacio. At that time, the center began its work alongside the most vulnerable: children with polio sequelae and various diseases. From the beginning, the clinic had a community of brothers and an optional body to assist patients and ensure their recovery in a double, physical and spiritual way. With the disappearance of these diseases and medical and technological advances, in the 60s, the hospital began to transform and adapt to the needs of the population of Cordoba. In this way, the clinic begins its growth in medical services and specialties and a transformation, also at the infrastructure level, which will have two important inflection points with both reforms and extensions: one in the mid-90s, which would lead to its current denomination as San Juan de Dios Hospital, and another in 2013 that has meant the consolidation of the center as a general hospital. San Juan de Dios de Córdoba was the first private center accredited by the Andalusian Health Quality Agency (ACSA) with an advanced quality certification. This demonstrates its commitment to one of its fundamental values, that of quality, with which it is intended to provide the best service to all citizens. In addition, the hospital has the certification of its environmental management system in accordance with the international standard UNE-EN ISO 14001: 2015, which defines the concern of the hospital for the care of its environment and the environment and its commitment, which It is included in its environmental policy.
