Store description excerpt

Guess the Word is word deduction turned into a head-to-head duel. You both lock a secret English word. Then you take turns hunting for each other's. Ask about a letter and you learn exactly one thing: how many times it appears in the word — never where. Think you have the whole word? Say it. The answer is correct or incorrect, and the duel is over. No positions, no patterns, no partial credit. Turns mean the duel is won by your deductions, not by how fast you can type. You get half a minute to think about each move — take it. Miss two turns in a row and the duel goes to your opponent, so don't wander off. LOCK. PROBE. SOLVE. ▸ QUICK DUEL Get matched with a random opponent in seconds — and if nobody else is queueing, a stand-in opponent steps in so you are not left waiting. Wins move your rating, and the app keeps your personal best for every word length. ▸ PRIVATE ROOM Create a six-character code and read it out to a friend. They type it in and you're duelling — and a private room is always another human, never a stand-in. No accounts, no friend requests, no waiting. ▸ SOLO VS BOT Four bot skill levels that genuinely deduce: they track the letter counts you give them, narrow the possible words, and close in — without ever peeking at your word. Works with no internet at all: on a plane, on the underground, anywhere. THREE WORD LENGTHS • Easy — 4 to 5 letters: quick duels, and short words hide surprisingly well • Hard — 6 to 7 letters: the classic duel • Very Hard — 8 to 10 letters: long words leak letters, but the candidates run deep A letter count sounds like a small clue. It isn't. An E that appears twice, an S that never appears — every answer splits the dictionary, and the real contest is who asks the letters that split it best, and who dares the word guess first. One turn too early and you have handed the duel away; one turn too late and your opponent beats you to it. NOBODY CAN CHEAT On paper, the obvious cheat is to change your word once the other player gets close. That is impossible here. Your word is sent once and written down by our server, and no message exists that can change it afterwards. Your opponent's phone is only ever told a letter count or correct/incorrect — there is nothing in it to read. Every word is checked against a 125,000-word English dictionary on the server, so nobody can lock QQQQQ and hide — and if you misspell a guess, the app suggests the word you probably meant instead of wasting your turn. Both words are revealed to both players at the same moment, when the duel ends. NO SIGN-UP, NO NONSENSE • No account, no email, no password — pick a nickname and play • No location, no contacts, no analytics SDK • Solo mode never contacts our server at all • A short ad when you start a game, never during one — one payment removes ads forever • Nothing you can buy affects a duel: no paid hints, no paid modes, no advantage TRACK YOUR GAME An Elo rating that moves with every online duel, a leaderboard of real players
