The GreenScan app checks the composition of products for you! Once scanned, this unique mobile app displays clear and straightforward information about the product's ingredients and how they affect your health and the planet. Everything is COMPLETELY FREE - NO PAID PREMIUMS AND THE LIKE :-) How does it work? 1. Scan or write: Simply scan the barcode or type in the name of the product. 2. Get the information: The app will show you a rating of the product ingredients. 3. Upload a product: If a product isn't in the database you can add it yourself! 4. Rating of the ingredients: You will find a colourful number scale under the curios icon ❓ - your personal decoder of the ingredients' secrets! Just a quick glance and you know where your favourite product stands. 5. Ingredient details: By clicking on an ingredient, you will quickly find out if it's suitable for you. 6. Resources and studies. For those who want to know more, there is detailed information on the website (https://green-gate.eu/cs). How do we grade? 1. First of all, we don't evaluate/rate products: we focus on the ingredients and their worst properties. 2. A colour grading scale: different colours show how safe or harmful an ingredient is. 3. The ground rule: Although the grading is primarily based on the worst property of an ingredient, we can't forget about the positive aspects and contributions. 4. Sources: We believe in science! Our data comes from trusted sources and studies. 5. Relevancy: We’re human and we update accordingly to our possibilities. If you find outdated information, we will gladly adjust it. Why GreenScan? 1. Free for all: Yes, the app is and always will be free! 2. Community: Actively participating is key - the more products you add to the database, the better the app can keep us informed. I didn't find a product, what now? You can add it yourself or reach out to us and we will take care of it. 5. Can I add products to the database? Yes, we will be happy for any contribution to expand the database! The GreenScan app is and will remain a non-profit. It is funded from various sources (donations, own investments, grants...), but always under the condition of independence and with a guarantee of transparency.
