Gramma Ana is a blazing‑fast word‑stealing game born from a family obsession. One Christmas, my three grown boys, their cousins, and my mother couldn’t stop playing a game called Anagrams. We played so much I started rearranging letters in my sleep, the same way I used to see Tetris blocks falling from the sky in college. In addition to being word game lovers, my sons and I are developers, and we started talking about how to keep the game going once everyone went home. Those conversations turned into Gramma Ana, named in part because it's a play on the word ANAGRAM, and in part for my mom, Anne, who passed along a love for word games (Scrabble) and fast games (Pounce, now often knows as Nerts). Gramma Ana blends those loves into a competitive, high‑speed experience: • Build words from community tiles • Steal by extending an existing word • Play with friends, play solo, or practice against Gramma Ana • Let Gramma Ana judge your steals Gramma Ana knows every word, but she always plays the first one she sees, so she doesn’t always find the best move. She’s hard to beat, but beatable, and she adjusts to your skill level. The judge uses AI to check whether a new word shares the same root as the word you’re trying to steal. If it does (TEST → TESTING), it’s blocked. If it doesn’t (TEST → DETEST), it’s allowed. I built this to keep playing with my family, but if you enjoy it too, that will make me extra happy. Have fun!
