Store description excerpt
Gotea is Puerto Rico's water map. Made by neighbors, for neighbors. It shows three things nobody else shows you together: where water is being lost, who has service today, and how much water is left in the reservoirs. LEAKS See a leak on the street? Mark it on the map with a photo and you're done. It stays visible to everyone, with the date it was reported, until someone marks it as repaired. Every report is reviewed before it's published. Gotea puts the call to the AAA (787-620-AGUA) one tap away so you can report the leak directly, and each leak comes with a card ready for the neighborhood WhatsApp group. What you see on the map is what neighbors reported, not an official record. SERVICE Your zone's rationing calendar, as published by the AAA, and when the turn changes. If the government announces a pause, the map shows it with the date and the reason, and returns to the plan on its own when it ends. Most importantly: what neighbors say. Every day you can say whether the water reached you or not, and when your place has an outage, declare since which day you've been without water. When three neighbors from the same place agree, it appears on the map with the number of days. If the plan says you have water today and your neighbors say you don't, Gotea shows it as is. WHERE I LIVE Pick your urbanización, public housing, condominium, or sector from a list of thousands of places across the island. That's how Gotea knows which zone of the plan applies to you and where to add your voice, without you ever typing your address. The app can suggest the places closest to you; your location is used only to sort the list and is never stored. If your place isn't listed, propose it and we'll add it. RESERVOIRS The level of the main reservoirs as measured by the USGS, with the AAA's scale (normal, observation, adjustments, control), and the Puerto Rico drought monitor, updated weekly. PRIVACY No account, no email, no password. We don't ask for your address. Photos are uploaded without metadata, and leaks marked "at the meter" are shown with the point offset so no one's home is singled out. What neighbors say is published only when several agree; no one is ever identified. All data is shared with the press and the government exactly as it comes off the map, so the conversation about water happens with evidence. Gotea is an independent citizen platform. We are not affiliated with the AAA or the government. Not one more drop. Made in Puerto Rico.
