The Wilamowians are an ethnic group officially recognized by the Polish Government, which, in addition to its unique language, also has its own costumes and preserved traditions. Traditional women's costumes with their unusual shapes and colors deserve special attention. Due to the activities of the communist authorities of the Polish People's Republic, the Wilamowian language became highly endangered; currently, this heritage is being revitalized mainly thanks to the activities of the "Wilamowianie" Association.
