Store description excerpt

Letters keep falling. The tray keeps filling. The only way out is to spell faster than it stacks. GLYPHWELL is a one-thumb word puzzle. Sweets carrying letters drop one at a time into a seven-by-ten tray. Ten words sit in the bank underneath. Tap letters anywhere on the board to build one of them - they do not have to be next to each other, so you are never hunting for a path - and the word clears itself the instant it is complete, bursting its sweets and dropping the stack. Let a sweet settle in the top row and the tray has overflowed: the run is over. CHASE THE SCORE - Words run from three to six letters, and the early ones are short. Length pays disproportionately, so a six-letter clear is worth many times a three-letter one. - If the letters you tapped happen to sit in a connected line - up, down, left or right, no diagonals - the word pays double. Same word, twice the score, purely for spotting the shape. - Clear another word within six seconds and the chain multiplier climbs, up to x4. - Clearing deep in the stack pays more than skimming the top, so digging is worth the risk. - Every eight words you clear, the drop gets faster. YOU CANNOT GET STUCK A tap that could not finish any of the ten words is refused, so you are always building something real and can never paint yourself into a corner. Tap a picked letter again to put it, and everything you picked after it, back. And if the whole bank goes unspellable, one word is quietly swapped for one your tray can actually make. A run is never lost to the dice - only to how you read the board. READ THE TRAY - Star sweets are wild and stand in for any letter. - Grey rocks carry no letter and cannot be picked. Clear next to one twice and it crumbles. - Drag left or right to steer the falling sweet, tap an empty pocket to send it to that lane, or tap the lane it is already in to drop it fast. SUPPLIES Playing earns coins, and coins buy four consumable power-ups: - DIVINE lights up the sweets for a word your tray can spell right now. - REWRITE throws out all ten words and draws ten fresh ones. - BREAKER smashes any single sweet you tap, grey rocks included. - STILL freezes the drop for ten seconds so you can think. A daily coin treat grows with your streak, up to 110 coins on day seven. And if the tray overflows you get one second chance per run: watch an optional video and half the tray is swept away, your score intact. Every run ends with a rank - Gumdrop, then Jelly Bean, Lollipop, Toffee, Caramel, Nougat, Truffle, and Sugar Crown at the top - and a records board on your device keeps your best score, longest word, most valuable single word, longest chain and rocks broken. IT IS MEANT TO FEEL GOOD Fat, glossy candy colours on a warm grape-purple page. Every letter you tap is the next rung of a pentatonic ladder, over a quiet music bed that shifts as you get deeper. Sound, vibration and the mint markers that show which words are currently spellable can each be switched off. There is a how-to
