GIBS Driver is the official companion app for bus drivers operating on the Greek islands through the Greek Island Buses (GIBS) platform. It gives drivers everything they need to manage their shifts, provide real-time location tracking for passengers, and validate tickets — all from their phone. This app is designed exclusively for authorised bus drivers working with participating KTEL bus operators. KEY FEATURES 🚌 Shift Management View your upcoming and past shift assignments in one place. See route details, scheduled times, and assigned bus information. Start and end shifts with a single tap. 📍 Real-Time GPS Tracking When you start a shift, the app automatically begins sharing your bus's location with passengers via the Greek Island Buses platform. Passengers can see your bus moving on the live map, helping them plan their journey and know exactly when you'll arrive. 📱 QR Ticket Scanner Validate passenger tickets quickly and accurately using the built-in QR code scanner. The app instantly confirms whether a ticket is valid, already used, expired, or invalid — with clear visual feedback. A manual entry option is available for damaged or unreadable QR codes. ✅ Smart Ticket Validation The scanner handles multiple ticket types including single rides, return trips, day passes, and season passes. It includes a cooldown system for return tickets to prevent double-scanning and provides "attention" flags for special ticket categories. 🗺️ Route Progress Follow your route on an interactive map with a visual timeline showing each stop. The app marks stops as completed as you progress along the route, giving you a clear view of your journey. 👥 Waiting Passengers See real-time counts of passengers waiting at upcoming stops, updated live via the system. A persistent notification keeps you informed that tracking is active. 📴 Offline Resilience If you lose mobile signal in remote areas, the app buffers GPS data and ticket scans locally, automatically syncing everything once connectivity is restored. 🌍 Multi-Language Support Available in English, Greek, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, and Turkish.
