Get the German health certificate required for food work: complete the online first instruction (“Erstbelehrung”) under Section 43 of the German Infection Protection Act (IfSG) on your iPhone. No appointment at the public health office (“Gesundheitsamt”), no travel, and no waiting room. The course takes about 10 minutes on average and is conducted under medical supervision. The issued certificate is recognized throughout Germany. This also applies to temporary staff, part-time workers, interns, and students. It covers work restrictions under Section 42 IfSG and reporting duties for people who handle food professionally. The first instruction itself remains valid indefinitely. When starting relevant work for the first time, the certificate must be no more than three months old.
