Store description excerpt
Learners of German rarely get stuck on vocabulary. They get stuck on verbs. "ich ging", "ich bin gegangen", "ich ginge" - one stem, three forms, and nobody learns the third one by looking it up. This app asks you. One verb, one tense, one person, four answers. Tap, and the feedback is immediate - no confirm button. Get it wrong and you see the correct form, with a moment longer to take it in. ORGANISED BY CEFR LEVEL Levels A1, A2 and B1 come from the official word lists for the Goethe-Zertifikat exams. So you practise the verbs that can actually appear in your exam - not the same 14,000 entries as a dictionary. B2 adds the verbs that are most frequent in everyday German. 771 verbs in total: 113 at A1, 77 at A2, 225 at B1 and 356 at B2. Among them 104 separable and 138 reflexive verbs, 246 irregular ones and all six modal verbs. FIVE TENSES Present, simple past, present perfect, subjunctive II and imperative. Each can be switched on and off on its own: perfect only, subjunctive only, or everything at once. The same goes for the levels. EVERY FORM IS VERIFIED Not a single verb form in this app was typed by hand. All of them come from the German Wiktionary and were checked automatically against several independent sources, including the principal parts listed in the Goethe word lists. Where the sources disagreed, the verb was dropped rather than guessed. That matters more than it sounds. A wrong entry in a learning app gets memorised. The wrong answer options are real forms too - for the wrong person, the wrong tense or a different verb. Invented forms like "ich gehte" never appear, not even as distractors. SPACED REPETITION What you know comes back less often. What you got wrong returns in the same round. Progress is broken down by level and by how the verb forms its past. ALSO INSIDE - Reference: all 771 verbs with full conjugation tables, searchable - Daily goal and daily streak - Light and dark appearance - Interface in German and English - Works offline: every verb is in the app Your learning progress stays on your device.
