Store description excerpt

Your plants are pleading. You simply cannot hear them. Garden Me is an AI gardener: photograph anything green, learn what it is, what it wants, and — before you hand over your money in the garden centre — how much work it will actually be. IN THE SHOP Photograph it on the shelf. You get the species, often down to the cultivar, what light and soil it wants, and an honest answer on whether it is a joy or a second job — plus what to carry to the till alongside it, in the right quantity, so you are not back tomorrow. AT HOME Tell us what sort of garden this is — open ground, terrace, balcony, greenhouse, allotment, a shared plot, or a windowsill indoors — and where the plant stands in it. Every piece of advice follows: a pot dries out in a day where the border holds water for a week, and a communal bed is tended twice a year by whoever turns up. Then the reminders begin, year after year, suited to where you live and the season. WATERING, WITHOUT THE NAGGING Garden Me works out how often each plant wants water, from the pot or ground it stands in, the light it gets, and how much it forgives. A small pot in full sun is every other day; a snake plant on a windowsill once a fortnight; an established tree in open ground gets nothing, because it needs nothing. And if it has rained on something standing outside, the reminder simply does not come. GARDEN GUESTS Gremlins arrive uninvited and eat your plants. Heroes arrive uninvited and eat the ones eating your plants. Photograph the culprit — or the damage it left — and learn which of the two you have. Never harmful chemicals: the slugs do not deserve a war crime, and the ladybird deserves better than a spray. There is an Employee of the Month, chosen by season and by your kind of garden, with the one thing worth doing for them while they are on duty. TWO PHONES, ONE GARDEN Share it with the person you actually share it with. One code of twelve characters — no account, no email, nobody to sign up as. Both phones hold the whole garden, photographs and all, and work without a signal. WHILE YOU ARE AWAY The neighbour who waters gets a web page instead: what wants doing this week, and which plant is which. Nothing to install. IT ADMITS WHEN IT IS WRONG Disagree with an identification and say so. Garden Me reasons again from scratch, never offering the same answer twice. It costs you nothing — it rather ought not to. ALSO INSIDE • Light Check — photograph a corner, learn what would thrive there • Sow now — what to sow this month where you live, that you have not planted yet • A wishlist, for the plant you cannot yet fit, afford or find time for • A harvest log, year by year, so you know if the tree gave more than last year • Illnesses worth knowing: what you will see, and the test that settles it • Shopping and equipment lists that write themselves • Weather alerts for frost, drought and heat • A garden journal with photographs • Toxicity notes, for a household with a cat, a dog or a curious child • Ga
