Store description excerpt

The real thing has only one window. A National Treasure or Important Cultural Property may be put on view for no more than 60 days a year. Ukiyo-e prints are more fragile still — around 37 days. Things that are out for a tenth of the year get missed by people who assume they can go "sometime". Ganpuku reads the checklists that museums publish, work by work, and follows one question: when and where can this be seen? ■ Watching Bookmark a work and you will hear the day it goes on view, a week before it closes, and again the day before. It works while the app is closed. ■ Your museums Choose the ones you go to, and you will hear on the day a new special exhibition opens there. ■ Search Search from exhibitions or from works. Sorted by what closes soonest. Runs that have already finished are kept, so you can see when something is likely to come round again. ■ National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties Including the permanent galleries, ordered by what closes soonest. The 60-day rule bites hardest on the permanent side, which is exactly where things get missed. ■ Highlights Alongside the official designations, the number of Wikipedia articles a work has across languages is used as a rough gauge. Not a copy of somebody's list of masterpieces — a measure anyone would arrive at on the same day. — Free: search exhibitions, check dates, browse National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties, watch 3 works, and 1 museum. Ganpuku Pro (yearly, monthly, or one-time): removes the limit on works you watch and museums you follow. About the subscriptions ・The yearly and monthly plans renew automatically. ・They renew at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. ・You can cancel in Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions on your iPhone. ・The one-time purchase is paid once and never renews.
