Store description excerpt
Games Played Well scores video games against the same six-dimension rubric every time, so you can get a real read on a game before your kid plays it — not a star rating that hides what actually matters. Every game is scored 1-4 on: • Learning Integration — is anything genuinely educational built into actually playing it? • Engagement Without Manipulation — good design, or pressure tactics like FOMO timers? • Difficulty & Feedback Quality — does difficulty ramp fairly, with useful feedback? • Transfer Potential — do skills learned carry over to real life? • Monetization & Data Practices — are purchases transparent and non-coercive? • Social/Emotional Fit — is the tone and content right for the stated age range? Every game is also tagged with an age category (K-5, 6-8, 9-12) and — when relevant — a content warning that always displays before the score, never hidden behind a good grade. Optional Information Packs add complete North American game libraries for classic consoles (Nintendo Virtual Boy, Sega Master System, Nintendo Wii U), with more planned. No account, no login, no ads, no analytics — everything runs locally on your device.
