This is a free Orthodox Holy Bible, Old Testament (coming soon) and New Testament in “pocket” format, so you can always have it with you. It includes the original text along with a translation by P.N. Trembelas. It has a progress saving function, so you can continue reading from where you left off. It contains a search index, which works with monotonic words or syllables (does not support polytonic). It provides text editing capabilities. You can add, save and delete bookmarks whenever you want. It allows you to keep personal notes on each verse, with saving and deleting at any time. The “Verse of the Day” appears on the home screen. The four inspired books, which narrate and describe the teaching and the most important salvific events of the life of Jesus Christ, are called Gospels. The first three Gospels, that is, Matthew, Mark, and Luke, largely narrate the same events and follow the same general pattern in their narration. Since the narratives of these three Gospels can be combined into one, these three Gospels were called Synoptics. The evangelist John, who wrote his Gospel last of all, also had as his purpose to complete the other three Evangelists. Since they mainly mention the Lord's activity in Galilee, John sheds more light on the Lord's teaching and miracles in Jerusalem. The Gospels were received from the beginning with great reverence by all members of the Church world and read during the time of worship, as they continue to be done to this day, and they were passed on and carefully preserved in various places and sects of all the early Christians, but also the gift of the apostolic and holy life of the faithful.
