Save what you make and take it anywhere. ■ THINK IN ROMAN NUMERALS Every chord appears both as a scale degree and as a chord name. Change the key and the whole progression moves with it, so you can build in C and shift to the real key later. ■ EVERY SUGGESTION HAS A REASON Dominant resolutions, secondary dominants, tritone substitutions, modal interchange, passing diminished chords, chromatic mediants. Theoretical destinations, drawn by weight. A star marks the ones that connect most naturally.
